Mobile Interventions

Ecological mood assessment and intervention tools

The Mood Wheel is an application accessible on both web and mobile platforms, employing experience sampling techniques to evaluate the current or recent levels of distress and positive emotions. The app’s objective is to investigate the emotional valence, control, and functionality experienced by users.

PsyPills is a self-help psycho-educational instrument intended to build stress resilience and to target (only) mild and transient negative mood states, alone or in combination with other methods/instruments.

Psychological Pills (PsyPills) are inspired by Rational-Emotive & Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT/REBT), which has strong evidence for its efficacy/effectiveness in human development/health promotion and in the treatment of a variety of psychological conditions.

The PsyPills app was tested in a pilot study and showed positive effects on reducing distress. We will test the efficacy of the app adjunct to other therapeutic tools within the platform in our projects.

REThink Parenting – The Rational Parenting Coach app is a mobile parenting program aimed at offering evidence-based personalized support in the prevention of youth internalizing and externalizing disorders.

REThink Parenting is based on evidence-based curricula and advancements in evidence-based techniques and tools that aims to promote positive parenting and support parents in coaching emotional health in youths. The REThink Parenting program builds on an already tested positive parenting program, the Rational Positive Parenting Program (see David, 2014; David, Capris, & Jarda, 2017). The program has been extended for targeting emotional symptoms in youths, and will capitalize on recent advancements in unconditional youth acceptance, the transdiagnostic ABC model of the Rational Emotive and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and schema therapy techniques. The main innovative methods of the app are the personalized intervention, the interactive format, video modelling, gaming tools and ecological assessment tools.
